Should You Buy the JR-Pod or J-Pod for Your Geek Vape Digi Pod Mod

Mi-Pod carries a great selection in our Geek Vape Collection. Two of the most interesting models are the Digi Max and Digi Pro. The are pod mods. They can operate as button fired or draw-activated. They have compatible pods with wattage requirements as low as 8-watts, perfect for nic salts. They also have lower resistance pods and coils that operate at up to 30W, with even more capable coils on the way.

They also give you a choice between the J-Pod and JR Pods. Here are the differences.

Geek Vape J-Pods versus JR-Pods

Geek Vape JR Pods have a swappable coil. This is the J-Series Coil. The pod can be reused, making this a more affordable expedient. At this time, the coils are identical to those found in the Geek Vape J-Pods. The J-Pod design uses an integrated coil. There will additional coil options offered for the JR-Pod which will have lower resistance and greater vapor output, a necessary step as the Digi Max has an output of up to 80-watts and can serve as a vape mod.

Geek Vape J-Pods Pros and Cons

Pros: The pod is ready to use out of the box and you need not purchase a coil. Great flavor and wide range of performance options available.

Cons: Will not have the lowest resistance coil (0.2ohms) that will be offered for the JR-Pod compatible J-Coils

Geek Vape JR Pods/J-Coil Pros and Cons

Pros: Less money and waste when the pod is reused. The top-fill design is very durable with few points of failure. Great array of coil options that will increase with a pair a sub-ohm options.

Cons: Swapping a coil is something that may vex an initiate or disposable vape fan. Currently none of the coils take advantage of the Geek Vape Digi Max’s 80W output.

Our Verdict

Now, the performance is identical. It comes down to personal preference and availability. Will people want to swap the coil to save money, the coil comes in 5-packs and JR Pod is very durable, or will the integrated J-Pod be the default? We will find out soon enough.

Once the 0.2ohm coil is available, cloud chasers will want the JR-Pod for mod like performance. But the J-Pod will get a bold 0.3ohm pod design to offset this difference.

There is not much to separate the two designs. Just remember, if you buy the JR-Pod you will need J-Coils, or you simply obtained a blank pod with a void.

If you are looking for a more basic design which is designed just for nicotine salt vapers, check out our Geekvape Wenax Q review.
