Geek Bar Pulse versus RAZ TN9000

Geek Bar Pulse versus RAZ TN9000

They look quite similar, they exist for the same reason, and there is even an overlap in flavor options. But the Geek Bar Pulse and RAZ TN9000 are far from identical twins. Each design has its own specific emphasis and there is enough of a difference where adult vapers are likely to swear by one over the other.

The Geek Bar Pulse Collection features a technological tour de force. It has dual modes, a large LED screen, SMART Vape e-liquid and battery monitoring, unique rocket ship graphics, and a generally modern look.

On paper, the RAZ TN9000 gives up a bit in terms of performance to the Geek Bar Pulse. But the RAZ TN9000 collection contains several unique and delicious options. And its masterfully designed coil extracts almost perfect flavor. Apart from the US-assembled Fifty Bar collection with its American made e-liquids Beard Vape Co. nic salt formulas, no disposable vape seems to have the depth and breadth of unique flavors that the RAZ TN9000 does.

Popularity of Disposable Vapes

Adults are increasingly drawn to disposable vapes for several compelling reasons. The convenience factor ranks highly; these devices are ready to use straight out of the packaging, eliminating the need for charging or refilling e-liquid. This plug-and-play approach appeals to those seeking a straightforward, hassle-free vaping experience. Additionally, disposable vapes come in a variety of flavors, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences, which enhances the overall enjoyment.

Value of Disposable Vapes

Flavors and performance alone do not explain the popularity of disposable vapes. The final factor is value. The expense of vaping one of Big Tobacco's faux-bacco is exorbitant compared to a disposable vape.

With flavor, performance, convenience, and value all rather crucial factors behind the informed buying decisions of an adult vaper, it is time to look at a pair disposable vapes that possess these attributes in spades. Mi-Pod carries a wide selection of the best disposable vapes to make sure that adult vapers have the options they seek in terms of flavor, value and performance.

Geek Bar Pulse Versus RAZ TN9000 Overview

Raz TN9000

At first glance, the Geek Bar Pulse and RAZ TN9000 look quite similar. The RAZ has some stylized 1970s looking plastic stripes on its side. Both have bright screens with an airflow switch at the bottom. They are roughly the same size and have a very similar form factor. The RAZ TN9000 is slightly larger. By slightly, we are talking millimeters.

But underneath the surface, the Geek Bar Pro seems to have all the advantages. It has a greater e-liquid capacity, two distinct power modes. The RAZ TN9000 graphics flood the screen after every puff, forcing the user to wait until valuable battery charge and e-liquid level information is displayed. The display on the RAZ TN9000 is also smaller and contains less information. It has a smaller e-liquid capacity and estimated puff count.

On paper, it seems like these are very similar devices with the empirical edge going to the Geek Bar Pulse. But what matters most are the flavors. And it is in this area that the RAZ TN9000 has built quite the following among adult vapers.

Geek Bar Pulse Review versus RAZ TN9000

The innovative Geek Bar Pulse has much to recommend. From the soft plastic mouthpiece to the responsive switch to change modes, everything is ergonomic and clicks. The RAZ TN9000 looks similar enough and is also exceedingly popular. It is a natural match-up.

LED Display

The Geek Bar Pulse's display, even with a rocket ship graphic in Pulse Mode, is a picture of simplicity. It is legible without being overly bright. All necessary information is visible. The outside of the vape lights up green in regular mode. A rocket ship appears in pulse mode. The e-liquid and battery information are provided as a percentage.

LED Display Geek Bar Pulse

Despite the large and clear shell on the front, the illuminated portion of the 0.96" RAZ TN9000 display does not appear measurably smaller. But rather than numbers, it provides graphic depictions of the e-liquid and battery life level. The battery life remaining is measured in ten partitions and the e-liquid in six.

RAZ TN9000 Display

The accuracy of the two displays seemed similar after extended use. But where the Geek Bar Pulse pulls ahead is the animations. After you puff, the RAZ TN9000 displays graphics for a couple seconds where the Geek Bar displays the vital e-liquid and battery life numbers and contains its rocket ship graphic to the middle of the screen and the regular mode illumination is at the peripheries. The RAZ TN9000 also has charging graphics, but how much value this provides is in the eye of the buyer.

Winner: Geek Bar Pulse

Vaping Modes

The Geek Bar Pulse absolutely hums in Pulse Mode and works a bit stiff for many vapers. 20-watts is not over the top, a Smok Novo 3 or UWell Caliburn can handle 50mg nic salts at a higher wattage, but it’s still a big ramp up from the typical 10-watt output of a disposable vape.

Regular Mode is a more typical set-up historically. The coil in the Geek Bar Pulse is designed to deliver great flavor and vapor even when e-liquid and battery levels are low. In regular mode you will reach this point in something like half the time because it is running at half the power. This also means that the lower powered RAZ TN9000 is going to have more endurance than a Geek Bar Pulse in Pulse Mode. Especially as the devices have identically sized batteries.

Geek Bar Coil

One potential issue with dual coil designs like the Geek Bar Pulse is that if you stick in regular mode, it is exclusively functioning on that end. It seems durable enough to withstand this but there is no guarantee that endlessly intense sessions won't compromise the flavor.

The RAZ TN9000 does not have modes per se. It has three airflow settings and a standard mesh coil. But this mesh coil is a doozey. It delivers pristine and amazing flavor. If you have no interest in huffing direct-lung 5 percent nicotine salt hits, suddenly the performance difference between these two devices is not that great at all. And the RAZ TN9000 has three airflow settings.

The Geek Bar has a bit higher capacity, but this is a wash if you are not going to use 20-watts pulse mode. Conversely, the RAZ TN9000 has no answer for the 20-watt punch of Pulse Mode.

Winner: Geek Bar Pulse

Air Flow Controls

The Geek Bar Pulse has two air flow settings, but they are directly linked to Pulse and Regular Mode. If you want the most open-air flow, then you are stuck vaping at 20-watts. If you want a tighter draw, the only option is regular mode. There are devices now that have uncoupled this feature, the Rif Bar Turbo-X for instance.

The RAZ TN9000 offers only one power mode but there are air flow settings. And they are outstanding. When closed, it really has a nice, restricted draw. And this is something the Geek Bar Pulse is simply not capable of unless you start plugging the airflow yourself.

RAZ TN9000 air control switch

The middle setting is a great combination of flavor and vapor. When wide-open, the draw is loose enough that it gives a deceptively large cloud. Enough to forget Pulse Mode in the Geek Bar? Maybe not? But its close.

Winner: RAZ TN9000

Performance and Puff Count

In empirical performance, in terms of longevity and puff count, the Geek Bar Pulse has the RAZ TN9000 beat. It holds 4ml additional nic salts. The battery is the same size, so it will not be a longer legged device between charges however and will die much sooner between charges if you use Pulse Mode. Pulse Mode will also burn through the disposable device’s contents more quickly, albeit with larger vapor clouds.

In the real world, the edge in longevity of the Geek Bar did not seem to be almost half again as much, even though this is what is suggested. Regular Mode is rated at 15,000 puffs and Pulse Mode at 7500 puffs, versus 9000 for the RAZ TN9000. This category is closer than it looks on paper, but the Geek Bar Pulse does have the edge.

Winner: Geek Bar Pulse

This a tricky one because the flavors are so defined and bold in modern disposable vapes. It is also entirely subjective with considerable flavor overlap between most disposable vape lineups.

Geek Bar Pulse Flavors

The Geek Bar Pulse has the most unfortunately named disposable vape flavor ever. They decided to name a line of their disposables after the Zodiac. And someone forgot to tell them to skip Cancer. This is how we ended up with the Cancer Geek Bar Pulse. Yes, it says Cancer on the device. Technically, it is the Berry Bliss Geek Bar Pulse. But the name is there, clear as day.

Naming conventions are not what is being compared here. The Geek Bar Pulse has a stacked line-up. For detailed information, check out these three features:

The Geek Bar Pulse does not just have the basic mint, blue Razz, strawnana, mint, mango, and watermelon ice staples. They feature a lot of sour fruit confection flavors, beverage flavors, and even a vape with the name the Fcucking Fab Geek Bar Pulse.

It is all fruit and beverage all the time with Geek Bar. These are the flavors adults want and they are meeting the demands of the market. There is a lot of sweetness baked into every vape. It is very hard to find bottle nic salts that can match the punchiness of a good disposable vapes flavor. The Geek Bar does not disappoint. Of note is their line of fruity "sour pop" disposable vapes that suckers for 1980s flavor nostalgia will be sure to love.

RAZ TN9000 Flavors

There is no Cancer RAZ TN9000, but they compete in other ways. The RAZ TN9000 flavors have completely inscrutable names and are delicious. Complete reviews of all the RAZ TN9000 flavors can be found below.

RAZ TN9000 Dream Edition Flavors

Since their names are completely incomprehensible, here are the RAZ TN9000 Dream Edition Flavors:

These are all superb flavors; Ruby is one of the sweeter yet more refreshing disposable vape flavors out on the market today. And that is saying something. But the RAZ TN9000 really makes hay against the Geek Bar Pulse with their bog-standard flavors.

Unique RAZ TN9000 Flavors

If you are an adult vaper with a particular flavor craving, chances are that the RAZ TN9000 has you covered. And not in the unwieldy way of some rivals. There are not nine different watermelon vapes and four blue razz derivations. It is just a sound and lengthy list of disposable vapes that covers all of vaping's greatest hits.

But where this device really shines is when it colors outside the lines. Apart from the US-assembled Fifty Bar Disposable Vape, the RAZ TN9000 probably has the best collection of dessert inspired disposable vapes on the market. This is precisely why we pitted the two against each other in this comparison: RAZ TN9000 versus Fifty Bar. Of course, the Fifty Bar Collection features Beard Vape Co. formulated and US-made e-liquids inspired by their very famous line-up of donut and dessert e-liquids.

Of course, the RAZ TN9000 is available in the usual laundry list of confection, fruit, and tropical menthol blends. There is even something known as Night Crawler, which is apparently based on a worm shaped confection flavor. But the RAZ TN9000 is also available in these bold flavors below.

Flavor Winner: RAZ TN9000 versus Geek Bar Pulse

Toe-to-toe the great Geek Bar Pulse flavors are a match for anything on the market. And compared to many rivals, they have dipped deep into the artificial fruit flavor bag of tricks. But if you are looking for variety outside that realm, the RAZ TN9000 is impossible to beat. It gets the edge because of this. But if you care more about typical fruit flavors and the joys of confection store sweets, the Geek Bar does get the edge.

Winner: RAZ TN9000

Our Verdict

It is amazing that two devices of nearly identical size have some many differentiating factors. Both excel at delivering delicious and satisfying vapor. Both are available in the flavors that adult vapers prefer. Neither has any weakness.

If viewed for sheer versatility, the Geek Bar does have a definitive edge. It delivers more puffs, has two power modes, and the screen display is better in terms of information presentation. Flavor quality is a wash. But the RAZ TN9000 has some amazing flavors that the Geek Bar Pulse has no answer for.

Winner: The tie goes to Geek Bar for its dual power modes.

Adult Vapers the Real Winner

Normally there can be only one winner, but flavor preference is going to play a huge role in the decision. As does vaping style. Many have no use for DL strikes with a 20-watt disposable vape packed full of 5 percent salts. Other adults want that sort of performance on tap. If you are part of the latter group, only the Geek Bar can deliver in this comparison.

The Geek Bar does face viable competition on this front though.

The real winner are the adult vapers who can enjoy these reliable, discrete, and viable alternative products. There of course is something slightly depressing about the fact that technological innovation is only being applied to one-time use devices.

If not for the 2016 Deeming Rule, it is likely we would have refillable vapes with an absolute laundry list of safety features and deterrence measures that could work in conjunction with Tobacco-21 laws. Geofencing, lockable devices, Bluetooth and Smart Phone interface, and countless other options. We could also have bottled nic salts that pop with flavor like these disposable vapes do.

But alas, the FDA has different ideas. Having approved only a handful of obsolete and ancient e-cigarettes, they choose to disregard the full potential of vaping and the progress that has been made to combat teen vaping.

Vape Flavor Bans Increase Cigarette Sales

The availability of popular flavors is not to be underestimated. A 2023 study commissioned by the FDA found that vape flavor bans increase cigarette sales. This should be no surprise. The artificial fruit flavor profiles in adult-friendly disposable vapes are also best sellers in countless consumer items. These range from soft drinks to breath mints, to hard seltzers, and of course confectionary sweets.

flavor bans increase cigarette sales

Compared to an artificial tobacco infused vape flavor, of the style found in the tobacco industry's e-cig product-line, adults increasingly gravitate towards flavors generally classified as refreshing and palatable rather than acrid and off-putting. The number of blueberry and mint flavored products on store shelves is endless.

Adult Vapers Prefer Characterizing Flavors to Faux-Bacco Vapes

There is no faux-bacco flavored electrolyte beverage shilled by influencers and sold at Kroger to the best of this author's knowledge. But you know what there are a lot of: strawberry, grape, banana, dragon fruit, kiwi, mixed berry, blue raspberry, mint, and apple flavored stuff. The most popular flavors with adults turn out to be the most popular flavors with adults. Who knew.

Moreover, the adult age cohorts that still prefer cigarettes at the highest rate
