The innovative Geek Bar Pulse has much to recommend. From the soft plastic mouthpiece to the responsive switch to change modes, everything is ergonomic and clicks. The RAZ TN9000 looks similar enough and is also exceedingly popular. It is a natural match-up.
LED Display
The Geek Bar Pulse's display, even with a rocket ship graphic in Pulse Mode, is a picture of simplicity. It is legible without being overly bright. All necessary information is visible. The outside of the vape lights up green in regular mode. A rocket ship appears in pulse mode. The e-liquid and battery information are provided as a percentage.
Despite the large and clear shell on the front, the illuminated portion of the 0.96" RAZ TN9000 display does not appear measurably smaller. But rather than numbers, it provides graphic depictions of the e-liquid and battery life level. The battery life remaining is measured in ten partitions and the e-liquid in six.
The accuracy of the two displays seemed similar after extended use. But where the Geek Bar Pulse pulls ahead is the animations. After you puff, the RAZ TN9000 displays graphics for a couple seconds where the Geek Bar displays the vital e-liquid and battery life numbers and contains its rocket ship graphic to the middle of the screen and the regular mode illumination is at the peripheries. The RAZ TN9000 also has charging graphics, but how much value this provides is in the eye of the buyer.

Vaping Modes
The Geek Bar Pulse absolutely hums in Pulse Mode and works a bit stiff for many vapers. 20-watts is not over the top, a Smok Novo 3 or UWell Caliburn can handle 50mg nic salts at a higher wattage, but it’s still a big ramp up from the typical 10-watt output of a disposable vape.
Regular Mode is a more typical set-up historically. The coil in the Geek Bar Pulse is designed to deliver great flavor and vapor even when e-liquid and battery levels are low. In regular mode you will reach this point in something like half the time because it is running at half the power. This also means that the lower powered RAZ TN9000 is going to have more endurance than a Geek Bar Pulse in Pulse Mode. Especially as the devices have identically sized batteries.
One potential issue with dual coil designs like the Geek Bar Pulse is that if you stick in regular mode, it is exclusively functioning on that end. It seems durable enough to withstand this but there is no guarantee that endlessly intense sessions won't compromise the flavor.
The RAZ TN9000 does not have modes per se. It has three airflow settings and a standard mesh coil. But this mesh coil is a doozey. It delivers pristine and amazing flavor. If you have no interest in huffing direct-lung 5 percent nicotine salt hits, suddenly the performance difference between these two devices is not that great at all. And the RAZ TN9000 has three airflow settings.
The Geek Bar has a bit higher capacity, but this is a wash if you are not going to use 20-watts pulse mode. Conversely, the RAZ TN9000 has no answer for the 20-watt punch of Pulse Mode.

Air Flow Controls
The Geek Bar Pulse has two air flow settings, but they are directly linked to Pulse and Regular Mode. If you want the most open-air flow, then you are stuck vaping at 20-watts. If you want a tighter draw, the only option is regular mode. There are devices now that have uncoupled this feature, the Rif Bar Turbo-X for instance.
The RAZ TN9000 offers only one power mode but there are air flow settings. And they are outstanding. When closed, it really has a nice, restricted draw. And this is something the Geek Bar Pulse is simply not capable of unless you start plugging the airflow yourself.
The middle setting is a great combination of flavor and vapor. When wide-open, the draw is loose enough that it gives a deceptively large cloud. Enough to forget Pulse Mode in the Geek Bar? Maybe not? But its close.

In empirical performance, in terms of longevity and puff count, the Geek Bar Pulse has the RAZ TN9000 beat. It holds 4ml additional nic salts. The battery is the same size, so it will not be a longer legged device between charges however and will die much sooner between charges if you use Pulse Mode. Pulse Mode will also burn through the disposable device’s contents more quickly, albeit with larger vapor clouds.
In the real world, the edge in longevity of the Geek Bar did not seem to be almost half again as much, even though this is what is suggested. Regular Mode is rated at 15,000 puffs and Pulse Mode at 7500 puffs, versus 9000 for the RAZ TN9000. This category is closer than it looks on paper, but the Geek Bar Pulse does have the edge.
