Just in time for July 4th, the Geek Bar Pulse X collection receives reinforcements in the form of the three flavor Patriot Edition flavors.

Looking at the specifications, these are a pair of very similar disposable vape devices that are designed for extended vaping sessions and a satisfying nicotine hit. Both offer a premium vaping experience with outstanding vapor production and versatile vaping modes.

Each device offers advanced features and a large e-liquid capacity. For optimal viewing of e-liquid levels and battery life, they feature advanced display technology. Extended use is possible, especially using the lower wattage vaping mode. But long-lasting power is what these chunky disposable vapes are all about. Both the Geek Bar Pulse X Patriot Edition and RAZ DC25000 Freedom Edition nicotine strength of 50mg, the industry standard, and dual core heating to extract optimal flavor.

Geek Bar Patriot Edition versus RAZ Freedom Edition Flavors

The original RAZ TN9000 looked very similar to a Geek Bar and even has a similarly placed switch on the bottom. It did not have dual modes but did offer a selection of awesome flavors. The RAZ DC25000 Freedom Edition and Geek Bar Pulse X Patriot Edition are much more evenly matched on the technological side, and this means that vape flavors are going to play a disproportionate role in the buyer's decision.

There is a lot of performance on tap in both disposable vape designs and they are chock full of advanced features. Even a seasoned vaper may have issues differentiating these two devices or identifying major performance differences. To make it even closer battle, two of the three flavors for Geek Bar Patriot Edition and RAZ TN9000 Freedom Edition are shared.

Round 1: Flavors

There is a lot of overlap here. Each has a watermelon ice and a blue razz ice flavor. Both are great choices, embodying summer, and Americana in one fell swoop. Blue razz ice flavors are among the most popular with U.S. adult vapers. It’s an unmistakable flavor that is delightful. Both are very sweet and icy but with enough tang to balance out the flavor.

The watermelon ice flavors are also evenly matched and on theme. What says American summer more than juicy watermelon on ice? And here are two vapes that recreates that flavor and mix in some sour watermelon confection, another classic treat, as well. The iciness in both is strong, the Razz Watermelon Ice seemed a bit more developed but it’s very subjective. It would be hard to pick them out of a lineup. Lush Ice vape flavors are another American vaping tradition, the Watermelon Ice Geek Bar Pulse X and RAZ DC25000 both deliver goods.

There are two flavors unique to each device in this showdown. RAZ has dusted off the popular Night Crawler flavor for the DC25000 Freedom Edition. The Geek Bar Pulse X Patriot Edition features a Miami Mint. Night Crawler was inspired by the tart and sweet fruit flavors found in a gummy worms. It is a great flavor with a possibly off-putting name if you fish. Miami Mint is now a rather standard take on a sweet mint flavor with a hint of citrus. These are quite different flavor options, but both are excellent.

Winner: DRAW. With both offering an excellent watermelon ice and a blue razz ice, your preference will be very subjective. Do you like fruit confection or sweet mint vape flavors better?

Round 2: Performance

Both disposable devices feature a visually stunning interface and very similar performance specs. The wattage outputs and two modes perform very similarly. The RAZ displays the wattage but not the voltage range.

The Geek Bar Pulse X Patriot Edition has chosen not to disclose this information on its revolutionary display. It shows e-liquid level and remaining battery power. A screen this big could probably fit in vaping time easily enough.

The lack of information does not impact vaping experience in terms of flavor obviously. The RAZ DC25000 fires at 25W in Boost Mode and 12W in Regular Mode. The Geek Bar Pulse X Patriot Edition is clearly hitting at about the same power.

Both use the same setup of a dual core and processor firing a dual coil. The primary performance differentiator is that the RAZ DC25000 Freedom Edition has a side-mounted button to change modes while the Geek Bar Pulse X Patriot Edition does not.

What this means is that you can control the air flow on the Raz separately from the power mode. With the Geek Bar Pulse X, switching to Pulse Mode automatically opens the airflow while switching to the lower mode closes it a bit. None of this is dramatic enough to influence a final decision but it is an advantage for the RAZ.

Winner: DRAW. The RAZ DC25000 Freedom Edition has a better airflow control but otherwise almost identical performance.

Round 3: User Experience

The Geek Bar Pulse X Patriot Edition is a cool looking disposable vape. It is certainly more on theme as far as the screen. Red White and Blue colors appear on its side display panel. The device itself is now blue and red.

With a screen on its side with animations and a sharp 3D curved screen, it is flamboyant and bright.

The RAZ DC25000 can almost match it in Pizzazz but has an important advantage. You can shut the darn thing down with click of the button. For those of us less interested in constellation and 1960s-era Space Race graphics, this is a huge benefit.

Between this, the difference in airflow control and actual wattage information displayed, the RAZ DC25000 pulls ahead in user experience. The caveat is that if you prefer the flash of cool screen, the great animations on RAZ DC25000 are not quite so intense as the Geek Bar Pulse X Patriot Edition.

Winner: RAZ DC25000 has more germane information, a better airflow control system and the bright screen can be dimmed.

Round 4: Vape Features

These are very similar devices. They look like vape mods and aren't that much smaller. The freedom to control more modes is a big deal but so apparently is a 3D screen. Other than what we have covered already, the Geek Bar Pulse Patriot Edition does have the soft bite mouthpiece of its predecessors. It is a softer and seemingly higher-quality plastic than the RAZ.

The Freedom Edition RAZ DC25000 does have actual images of Old Glory on the back. Does that count for something in the run up to July 4th?

Winner: Draw. The Geek Bar is a bit flashier. The RAZ has a few nicer features, but the ergonomic edge goes to the Geek Bar with its mouthpiece.

Round 5: Vaping Value

These devices are so evenly matched that every category pits nearly identical components and specifications head-to-head. The Pulse X has 2ml more e-liquid but also the same puff count. This suggests it is probably running at an additional watt.

Winner: Geek Bar Pulse X. With the margin provided by the higher e-liquid capacity.

Our Verdict

These are two evenly matched products, and you cannot go wrong with either. That is how similar they are. Disposable vapes are a perfected technology at this point. It is a bit sad to think how amazing a refillable salt nic pod kits would be if not for stupid regulations, but at least adult vapers can taste freedom and power easily with these two powerhouses.

No matter how you slice it, there are two interchangeable flavors where it really is up to the vaper to decide which one, they like better. If you want mint or a zany confection inspired vape, you will have to pick sides.

You can't go wrong with either. If you don't have a big issue with the brightness of the screens or comparative graphic, flavors are the biggest differentiator. They are two of the most impressive disposable vapes. For many adult vapers, there is no better way to greet the summer than with one of these two Independence Day themed flavor line-ups.

Cruel Summer

With a hopelessly broken FDA approval process, vape flavor bans increasing cigarette sales for first time in a generation, rates of smoking cessation slowing, Big Tobacco funded registry bills driving all but a few obsolete cigalikes off the market and an outmoded Deeming Rule keeping refillable vapes locked in stasis since 2016, disposable vapes have emerged as the one bright spot for adult vapers.
