Geek Bar CLR 50K Review | All 25 Flavors, Specs & Clear Tank Performance

Geek Bar CLR 50K At a Glance

The second generation of Geek Bar vapes has arrived. The Geek Bar Pulse 2 and Pulse X2 are already convenience store staples offering upgraded performance when compared to their predecessors. The Geek Bar CLR 50K takes aim at the popular clear vapes: the Foger Switch Pro, Lost Mary VIZ 55K, Off Stamp X-Cube Crystal Cube, and a host of others.

Geek Bar claims a host of improvements for the CLR 50K. These include improved cotton, a 20% smoother draw, 30% more flavor, and a higher-quality lithium-ion battery.

The most important difference between the Geek Bar CLR and the Geek Bar Pulse vapes is that the CLR adds a direct view of the reservoir, making its remaining contents easier to assess. The early Geek Bar disposable vapes offered an e-liquid level indicator display. The Pulse X even gives a percent rather than four light bars. But a clear tank is more accurate still. Removing the mystery is no small deal when a disposable vape generates tens of thousands of puffs and contains more than half as much e-liquid as a bottle of nicotine salts. Mi-Pod offers a wide range of disposable vapes to meet the needs of every adult vapor consumer. But the new Geek Bar CLR 50K is one of the most exciting new devices, blending Geek Bar flavor with cutting-edge performance.

Geek Bar CLR 50K Review

The transparent 17mL reservoir is paired with a 900mAh rechargeable battery and dual mesh coil. While the Foger Switch Pro was certainly a benchmark, this is not a modular disposable vape. The battery is not reusable.

The Geek Bar CLR 50K also retains the simplified controls that are found on the Geek Bar Pulse family. There is no airflow adjustment beyond switching modes. There is no second button. Mercifully absent are flashing images of the moons and stars.

Vapes Like a Geek Bar Pulse

There are advantages to this approach. There are fewer openings in the shell where potential leaks could occur, and it is easier to optimize coil performance when there is only one airflow setting per wattage mode. The Fifty Bar 20K and its Always Active Boost Mode and the Lost Mary VIZ 55K operate along a similar premise: simple is better when the wattage and coil are perfectly matched with the airflow.

The two modes are Regular and Pulse Mode. Regular Mode prioritizes puff count and also conserves battery life with a lower wattage setting. It has a slightly tighter draw as well. With a nicotine strength of 50mg, Regular Mode had more than enough giddyup for the author.

The CLR also includes a 3D Waterfall Glow display, giving it a distinctive appearance without replacing the usefulness of the visible reservoir.

Geek Bar CLR 50K VPU: It's What's Inside

The Geek Bar CLR features VPU Inside, short for Vaping Processing Unit. VPU is Geek Bar's technology platform for managing heating, e-liquid transmission, and vapor production.

According to Geek Bar's manufacturer specifications, the VPU technology improves fluid and heat transmission and increases vapor volume by 23.7%.

Combined with the dual mesh coil, the VPU is intended to preserve the quality of the flavor from the first puff to the last. The first generation of rechargeable disposable vapes struggled heavily with this issue, as they often went from delicious to vile when tapping into the last 10% of the e-liquid-soaked polyfill.

Challenges of a Clear Tank Disposable Vape: Coil and Tank Design

There was more to creating the Geek Bar CLR 50K than simply swapping in some transparent plastic parts. Clear-tank disposable vapes have a different design that requires modified hardware. The typical disposable vape, such as the Geek Bar Pulse, stores its e-liquid in cotton polyfill soaked with nicotine salts. This is a proven method of reducing leaks and preserving flavor while making efficient use of space.

The genius of the original Geek Bar Pulse was switching to a dual mesh coil. This gave Geek Bar two coils to work with, essentially doubling the potential lifespan of the device. This graceful solution helped redefine modern disposable vapes. The VPU controlled the current and atomizer heating. The only time this design really shows its face is if you stay in a single mode rather than switching throughout the life of the device. In the author's opinion, you get pristine flavors longer when splitting the labor.

Polyfill versus Clear Tank Disposable Vapes

All of that goes out the window with a clear tank. There is no polyfill, and tolerances to prevent leaks need to be tighter. You also lose the advantage of an automatically wicked coil, which the e-liquid-soaked polyfill provides as it is pressed and feeds the coil. With a polyfill design, like the Geek Bar Pulse series, you get the same hit no matter how the device is tipped. At least until it is burnt. Then it is ruined.

Creating a robust clear tank vape is slightly different. To provide stable performance, Geek Bar had to engineer the e-liquid reservoir to consistently feed e-liquid into the coil and perform like a standard disposable vape, that is, function properly even when stored, carried, or used less carefully. No vape mod or pod system user in their right mind would carry their device around upside down! The seals and baffles around the dual mesh heating surface of the Geek Bar CLR 50K seem very effective, although it is such a long-lasting device that the sample is not yet empty enough to crack open and examine more closely.

Geek Bar CLR 50K Flavors: Complete 25-Flavor Guide

In all likelihood, the typical Geek Bar CLR 50K customer is not going to ponder how the coil is fed consistently with e-liquid. The clear tank is simply a desirable feature. But it becomes much less desirable if the flavors are not up to snuff. And it is here that the devil is in the details. Disposable vapes have really converged on combinations of sour fruit, tropical fruit, confectionery-inspired flavors, icy fruit, and the occasional beverage-inspired wild card. Obviously, it was not humanly possible or at all advisable to zero out twenty-five of these vapes in three weeks. In many cases, a single device could last longer than that. Instead, the devices were distributed around the office. We gathered feedback on all the flavors and personally sampled most of them.

Geek Bar CLR 50K vs. Other Clear Tank Vapes

The CLR 50K is part of a broader movement toward visible e-liquid reservoirs. They reduce the guesswork involved in estimating remaining e-liquid. Its principal competitors include the Lost Mary VIZ 55K, UT Clear Tank 50K, Foger Switch Pro, and Off Stamp X-Cube Clear Cube.

Device E-Liquid Max. Rated Puffs Battery Key Difference
Geek Bar CLR 50K 17mL 50,000 900mAh VPU + Clear Tank

Off Stamp X-Cube Clear Cube 18mL 25,000+ 100mAh + 1000mAh Device Modular Pods + TFT Screen

The Lost Mary VIZ 55K offers a slightly higher advertised puff count and a distinctive wraparound LED display. It also has an amazing selection of flavors and a very advanced coil combined with a simplified and striking design.

Lost Mary VIZ 55K

The almost puck-shaped UT Clear Tank 50K emphasizes adjustable airflow, while the Foger Switch Pro and Off Stamp X-Cube use modular configurations with reusable battery hardware.

Geek Bar CLR 50K Review: Final Assessment

The Geek Bar CLR 50K's defining feature is the combination of a transparent reservoir and high-capacity, self-contained disposable hardware. Otherwise, it behaves very much like a Geek Bar Pulse X2, although it does not have quite as flashy a screen. It has Pulse Mode and a massive puff count in Regular Mode.

In theory, it is an easier device to figure out than a Foger Switch Pro or Off Stamp X-Cube. That said, it should not take long to understand that the battery is reusable while the disposable section is not.

The author prefers the Lost Mary VIZ 55K for its flavors, appearance, and airflow. But the margins are razor-close and essentially subjective when dealing with such evenly matched competitors. Whether it proves more popular than the classic Geek Bar Pulse vapes remains to be seen.
